HISTORY
It was 1999 that Heather Taylor and Alyssa Yount first met in the halls of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Georgia. Both were completing the masters program as aspiring Speech Language Pathologists. It was a combination of clinical practicum, internships, and personal experiences that lead them to specialize in the pediatric population. The desire to impact the lives of children and improve the quality of life for their families was put on their hearts. The similarities between Heather and Alyssa did not stop with their passion for children, as they also shared a similar work ethic and demand for personal and professional excellence. Both were committed to being among the best in their field and were eager to begin their professional careers. After graduation, Heather and Alyssa parted ways to begin their careers working in the Georgia public school system as elementary school speech pathologists. Each separated from the public school system after 3 years and started businesses whereby they worked with clients privately one-on-one in various settings such as homes, private schools, and in the community. Both believed that results were achieved at a faster rate with this model and their excitement and passion combined with data based therapy methods yeilded results with hundreds of families.
Over the years Heather and Alyssa always remembered the integrity and passion of one another. So it was no surprise when in the fall of 2005 Alyssa reached out to Heather to discuss how they could combine their practices and reach more children with a quality of service that is often hard to find. After many meetings and prayers they became certain that each was still as committed to excellence. Thus, the formation of Cobblestone Therapy Group.
Today, Cobblestone Therapy Group has assembled a team of clinicians that share a spirit of quality, integrity and love for each patient. We encourage you to read about each clinician and look forward to the opportunity of working with your family.
